Minecraft has always had caves and underground worlds to explore, but even more secrets are being created just waiting to be discovered with the upcoming Caves and Cliffs update coming in 2021.
The upcoming update will completely overhaul mountains in the game as part of the 2019 Minecon fan-vote winning biome pick. Now, mountains will play a much more centered role in the exploration aspects of the game, including more traps, "mischievous goats," and a few other surprises ahead:
Underground biomes aren’t all terrifying lava lakes and skeleton-infested mines; instead – if you follow the roots – you’ll find the lush caves are a stunning oasis of calm and tranquillity.

Lush caves, creepy caves, crytal-laden caves; there will be a lot of different caves to explore when this new update hits. This also means new ingredients to uncover for different blocks, as well as new mobs that lie in wait in wait.
Minecraft teased one new aspect coming with the 2021 update, the Sculk Sensor block that sends out a redstone signal. What does this do? According to the devs, it gives players a chance to build wireless redstone "amazing contraptions."
Tumble absent-mindedly down a hole, sail your trusty vessel into the deep, watery unknown or carefully descend that ancient ravine: whatever your underground exploration method – get ready for improved cave generation!

There will also be new copper ores for players to find as well, as well as beautiful crystal geodes that I honestly want to see with those 4K and retexture mods out there.
It will be interesting to see how Minecraft continues to evolve. Despite years on the market, it continues to have a very active player base of all ages, making it it an adventure that has proven it can stand the test of time.
