Capcom Announces Resident Evil Village DLC

Today during Capcom's E3 presentation, Capcom confirmed it was working on DLC for the recently-released Resident Evil Village – but didn't say much else.

VIllage's producer, Tsuyoshi Kanda, delivered the news. As of right now, aside from knowing it's being made, we know nothing about the upcoming DLC's gameplay, story, characters, setting, or otherwise.

"By popular demand, development has just started on additional DLC for Resident Evil Village," Capcom said in the video, following Kanda's presentation.

While we don't know anything about Village's DLC just yet, it's worth keeping in mind Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Village's direct predecessor, released in 2017 – received numerous content drops expanding on the story and lore of the game's central narrative. It also allowed players to assume the roles of characters other than protagonist Ethan Winters, including series mainstay Chris Redfield and newcomer Joe Baker. Whether Village receives similar treatment, time will tell.

Resident Evil Village was released back in May to critical acclaim. We here at Game Informer also loved it, giving the game a 9.25 review score.
